Is Harry Potter a trans narrative? Is Harry J.K. Rowling? What does her transphobia tell us about gender trauma, and why is it important to talk about?

In our first episode, we begin part 1 of a multi-part series looking at the Harry Potter books and J.K. Rowling.

We're looking at J.K. Rowling's relationship to transphobia through the lens of shadow work. Could it be possible that her intense beliefs about trans people are coming from a deep-seeded fear of her own trans parts?

In this series, we will use Harry Potter as a way for us to explore our own internalized transphobia, pre-egg-cracking. How many of us felt resentful of other trans people who were able to live their lives as their true selves before we were also able to crack our egg and come out of the closet?
